I haven't driven it for 6-7 months but it has always been a good road. Some light traffic with some energy/coal workers but nothing bothersome. The ONLY fuel would be in Wright, about 40 miles S. of Gillette. It has one, maybe two stores that would have to have diesel for all of the local trucks.
Wright has a nice little rest area, with a small lake and restrooms, and a playground.
Enjoy the drive as you will see more antelope than you can count and coal trains heading south to Texas with 120+ cars each.
