You'll probably want to stay at Wapiti or Whistlers campground just south of Jasper. They do have some serviced sites although the unserviced are much nicer sites. It's a good place to park and then do day trips to see the sights. I prefer Wapati.

You can reserve online using the parks canada reservation service.

The roads in the mountains are much easier than Hwy 17 along Lake Superior, the grades are more in Ontario and there the road is narrower, having said that there are lots of Provincial Parks along the route, and except for Long weekends you should not need reservations

93 is very scenic...no problems with your rv. Tunnel Mountain is a great park in Banff. Nice walk to town downhill.....you can take a bus back up the hill. Never stayed in Jasper just the KOA in Hinton (east of Jasper) which was OK. Real nice area. No great parks in Edmonton or Calgary. Suggest staying in Stony Plain (Edm) or Cochrane (Cal). Have fun ....it is a great area.
