Gold Beach Oregon to I-5 in Oregon

asks essentially the same thing, doesn't it? Coming from Gold Beach you can't cross the mountains before OR42 (unless you like scenic mountain driving).

We always use Hwy 38 from Reedsport to I-5.
There is a great spot to pull off and rest or have lunch (in your rig) on Hwy 38. Dean Creek Elk Reserve and Viewing Area...

Also a nice park in Drain with an covered bridge...

Well yes but no. 138 drops south. Pick up 38 at Reedsport. Stay on 38 and join I-5 near Drain.

My self I like 126 at Florence to Veneta. TL at the light and follow about 9-10 miles to 36 and TL. About 6-7 miles TL at first light, 99, through Junction City. Follow 99E (just keep straight at junction) through Harrisberg to highway 228. (stop sign) TR and couple of miles to I-5. PM if you want more clarification.
