- mittshelExplorerThe Heyburn I want to go to is nowhere near C'd'alene. Thanks anyway.
- cruiserjsExplorerMost of the above are good BUT - once on I 15 stay on it to Butte, then I90 west to C'd'alene then to Heyburne.
- mittshelExplorerThat is everything I needed. Thank you most knowledgeable Forum on the net. Betsy.
- BillMFlExplorerDinosaur National Park and Flaming George are easy from Vernal if you have the time. We enjoyed both on our way to Jackson Hole on back roads with very little traffic.

You'll actually want to stay on US 6 all the way to I-15 as US 191 heads back east toward Vernal and then up to Flaming Gorge. I would say that in our experience, 75% of the traffic heading west on I-70 past Green River exits at US 6 and heads up to Provo that way. Yes, it is a good road with many RV's and semi's heading that way every day.
Looking at 50 to 70 to 191 to 15 to 84. Wondering if 191 is a good, paved RV road (33' fifth). Any optional routes appreciated. Thank you. Betsy. - fanrgsExplorerNorth of I-70, US 191 is just a sign on US 6, which was one of the first major E-W routes from coast to coast. From I-70 to I-15, US 6 goes over Soldier Summit, which is a relatively easy, but long, pass. The two-lane pavement is usually fine and there are some climbing lanes, but in the spring there are occasional landslides and rockfalls along that route. So, there could be some construction or bumpy pavement in a few spots.
The only real issue with towing on your planned route is the congestion on I-15 from Provo all the way past Ogden. That part of your route is through probably 90% of Utah's population. Once you get on I-84, your route is pretty easy driving. - padredwNomadIn 2010 we towed our 34' fifth-wheel from Gunnison to Grand Tetons, but we took Colorado 139 over Douglas Pass to US 40, then over to 191. All paved as I remember. Douglas Pass is one of the most "interesting" passes I've been over, but we had no difficulty and little anxiety. Not a recommendation, but certainly our experience. Therefore I only have experience with 191 from Vernal, UT north. Again, all paved as I recall.
