Hattiesburg, MS. south to New Orleans?

We are heading south via I-59 into New Orleans tomorrow from Hattiesburg, MS. with our travel trailer. We have reservations at the French Quarter RV resort for a couple of days and would like any helpful advice while approaching our destination. Yes, we have maps & GPS, too, but anything more would be greatly appreciated about the road system, traffic, or what to avoid. Thanks- :)
  • Plan to get into NOLA as early as possible and make a run to the annual Oyster Festival on the Mississippi River at the French Quarter (Waldenburg Park) - oysters fixed every way you can imagine plus a few more! Good Food-Good Music-Great Folks!! ENJOY your time in NOLA.
  • I-10 westbound from I-59.
Their website says take exit 235A then left on New Orleans Avenue, then follow signs to "motorcoach resort".
Look up the address on google maps, select earth view and zoom in to see the streets. You shouldn't have a problem.
  • Going into N.O. on 1-10 on weekdays you definitely want to approach after 9 am and before 3 pm. Watch the interstate signs closely, have the resort in your GPS and you should not have any trouble.
  • Made it and thanks for the suggestions but at one point on the way here we had to pull over for the pounding rain hindered my vision. :D
  • Welcome to NOLA!!
(Frequent heavy Rain in the summer is just the way it is!!)
