Hope BC to Tsawwassen

When driving to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal I usually turn off Hwy 1 and take Hwy 10 to Hwy 17. With the South Fraser Perimeter Rd now open is it better to drive the extra distance and turn off Hwy 1 at the Hwy 17 exit?
We won't be going until next summer. I will be towing a 26 ft. trailer and most likely we would be travelling mid-week and trying to get the 11:00 AM ferry.

    88th is definitely shorter but the perimeter road will be less stressful if you are towing. The perimeter road was built to avoid having to take roads like 88th. Only a half dozen traffic lights (if that) between HWY 1 and the ferry terminal and except for a short stretch near the Pattullo, it's 80+ kph all the way.

    The most direct route for me is to take Hwy1 to exit 58 then 88 ave to the SFPR, this avoids Langley and is shorter than using the SFPR all the way but there are quite a few junctions on 88 ave so time wise could be about the same.

    Follow the advice and take the perimeter road. Much less hassle and faster. I did it last summer and was glad I did.

    The new highway is a huge improvement, will cut at least 1/2 hour off the trip and greatly reduce stress.Langley is slow going at the best of times and 10 is one lane each way west of highway 91.

    Take the perimeter road. 4 lanes all the way and very few traffic lights.Makes getting to Tsawwassen and YVR from the valley much easier.

    In the past (up to 2012) we made many trips to/from the ferry. Glad we don't need to now.

    But, when we did, preferred the drive from Hwy 1 -> 176 St -> 64 Ave -> 120 St -> 56th and carry on to the ferry. Seemed to be less traffic and timewise it worked out quicker than the main routes. Easy drive, fewer lights, less headache.
