I-680 to I-80 West?

Hi, we'll be traveling South on I-29 to Omaha, and will need to get to I-80 West.

I thought the I-680 bypass would be a good option, but it's hard to tell from google maps if the two highways connect. On google, it looks as if I-680 ends before it hits I-80.

Has anyone used this bypass and can report that it would work for us?

Many thanks in advance 🙂

That is how I would go if I did not want to stop at the bohemian café on S 13th south of down town for the boiled beef. The bohemian café is the first exit & go north on I80 after you cross the bridge that is how I would go you can park your rv on the street. But then I love the Boiled beef & Czech dumplings also almost half price 11-3.

Thanks for the tip! We're passing thru early in the morning but I'll make a note for the next time we're in the area!

I'm thinking we'll be going thru there around 7:30AM on a Thursday... do you think traffic will be an issue? I hadn't even thought of that.

680 to 80 is always the way we've gone around Omaha. Seamless transition and less congestion (also, I think, fewer miles for those coming from the north or from the east via 80.

You'll want to take I-680 as it does connect up with I-80! You'll avoid the heavy traffic of staying on I-29 south to I-80 west through Omaha.

Safe travels!

There is 680 East and West, when you go south on 29 you will have a choice .
Just came through there Friday. Both roads connect with Rt 80.

"On google, it looks as if I-680 ends before it hits I-80." - I'm puzzled about that. On GM Sat view, there's a full blown interchange where I680 meets I80 on the west side of town. On the Map view, I680 changes colors, but that's because it 'dissolves' into a slew of on and off ramps. But zoom in enough (and using streetview) it is clear that 2 lanes of west bound 680 smoothly merge with 2 lanes of west bound 80.

Google Earth map shows them connecting via 3-way interchange where 80 changes from w/b to s/b and 680 s/b.
