I-75 Michigan water sources.

Higgins Lake has 2 state parks, north & south. South would be closer, but is the larger of the two. If you've got a 'P' on your license plate sticker you can go into the park to fill up water or dump your tanks for no charge. I've done that quite often over the years.

Rose City is over 15 miles off I-75 as I go there often. Mother-in law lives next to the greenhouse. Rose City RV is before the greenhouse and would be easy to fill water. I like the Higgins Lake idea.

Most gas stations have water, its usually by the air. Some truck stops even advertise free air / water.

If you buy a rec-pass, water and dump is free at all state parks.

There used to be an artesian well in Rose City. It was at the general store, which I think is closed now, but it was just out in front of it. Its been awhile since I have been up there, but I think the well might still be running. If it is running, probably no way to hook up a hose, so you would need jerry cans or something to add it. Or maybe just hold the hose over the pipe?

That said, you would probably get off at 202, and then just straight down m-33, and if it was there, it should be just past the shell on your left. I think there is a small bar right before what used to be the general store.

The thing is, thats a pretty hefty jog out of your way. I suppose you could go up to mio and cut back across 72 into grayling.

I would probably at least get off at 202 and ask in the gas station right there. If they can't suggest anything you could always try again in west branch.

That's what I was thinking, fill up beforehand. If I fill it up at home the extra weight is not a problem for my rig. Just thought I would save some gas money.

Best water is the stuff from home as you know what it is. Not that much more weight as 50 gallons only weighs about 417.5 pounds. (1 gallon = 8.35 #) Really not that much as a percent of your total weight. Randu

Curious how much gas money would be saved by not filling up at home and driving around to find another source?
