I-90 on the Eastern Ohio - PA border

My wife was talking to her friend that lives in Conneaut, OH this past evening. We were told that there is some road work that will completely close I-90 and divert traffic through city streets. There is a bridge over the highway that is deemed unsafe and needs to be removed someplace out in the western PA area. According to our friend the closure will only be 4 days, but I'm not sure I trust the PenDOT's word that much.

Just a side not IF you have to go through the area. The detour will take you onto Rt-20 in Ohio. Probably one of the worst sections of road that you could possibly drive. The state thinks that they *might* have budget monies in 2020 to fix it.

  • P.S our state ,OHIO ,HAS NO ROAD MONEY, its all spent on parties. thanks for the info,
  • PennDot is just tearing down a bridge, I'm sure it will only take four days for the demolition.
Rebuilding it could be another story. Especially if PennDot doesn't get their 450 million from the Pa Turnpike Commission.
That could slow or eliminate some projects..

I was born and raised in the shadow of the Perry Nuclear Plant (Madison, OH) that will close in 2020. We left 9 years ago and don't regret that move. The whole state is hurting for $ and out little corner is about to start hurting a whole lot more.

Hopefully we wont have to worry about it when we go in August.
