Impact of Tides on Loading/Unloading, PEI to NS

Loading and unloading a large RV at low tide can be a problem at times. Will there be any problem leaving PEI for Nova Scotia, or should I pick a high-tide time to depart? My RV is 39' long, with a toad.

Thanks.

Lonnie
  • It is the one on the ferry at Dawson City you need to worry about - no adjustment there.

(but even if the ramps do adjust, unless they design it right - which they often don't because they must get a certain amount of pleasure thinking about the damage they cause - there can be certain extremes of tides where the angles are such that some rigs might scrape a little.)
  • The ramps adjust to the tide.

Hey just thought, you might be thinking of Bay of Fundy tides. These ferries are in Northumberland Strait, more like average seas, this is.
