Everybody can look at the thread, yes; in that regard posts are public. It might not be obvious that a particular person has posted in some random thread, though, hence the ability to follow people and be alerted to their posts in whatever threads they may happen to post in.

She posted several times on the forum in March. She was responding to others' threads and included several pictures, but because they weren't her threads, you can't see her comments directly.

I set my preferences to "subscribe" to her, so I see everything she posts. I don't want to miss anything because I really enjoy her posts and pictures. We visited her and Steve when we went to Alaska. Would love to go back.
