Kanab to Salt Lake City

I am plotting a leg of a trip we are taking using RV Trip Wizard from Kanab to Salt Lake. RV trip wizard has us take US 89 North and where it intersects 70 has us continuing on 89 which becomes 28 ultimately hitting Interstate 15. I have travelled parts of 89 before and am comfortable with the road but I am looking for any insight about the segment on 28. How is 28 to travel in a motorhome? Would I be better off to head west when I hit 70 to interstate 15 and go north vs. staying on 89 to 28 and eventually hitting interstate 15 further north?

We used routes 89 and 28 from Bryce Canyon to SLC several years back. No mountain driving, easy drive.
