Kennedy Space Center, to Assateague Island ?'s

95 to Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel is the way I would go. We just got back from Assateague 2 weeks ago. Absolutely loved it there!!

US-17 is a good road with lots of 4 lane around developed areas. Pick it up from I-95 about 30 miles North of the Georgia border. It will take you to US-13 which will take you to Assateague. You can avoid most of Myrtle Beach by taking SC-544 to SC-31 to SC-9 back to US-17.

Thanks for the info, we would like to avoid as much congestion traffic as possible. My son is still on deployment so he won't be with us this trip.

How long to spend travelling? Prefer beach or forest?
95 North Savannah, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, OBX, Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel and rt 13
95 goes inland but the possibilities of hugging the caost abound as well. If the Marine will will be with you for some of the trip NC has several Famcamps along the coast.
