Large RV Friendly Diesel Fuel Stations

Hello,

I am looking for Big Rig Friendly Diesel Fuel Stations in or near Lake Louise, Banff, Jasper, Revelstoke, Kelowna

Thanks!
  • Canmore is a good stop that is more big rig friendly than Banff. And a little bit cheaper than Banff. Lake Louise has good access but can be crazy busy on summer afternoons and weekends. Golden BC has quite a few big rig friendly gas stops. The Husky in Golden is a truck stop with lots of room.

Revelstoke Shell can be a tight fit at busy times. I put my 36' fiver through there the other day and was lucky to pull right in. The Chevron looks like a better choice just east of town.

Kelowna has lots, we have no problem there at all.
  • When I came through Jasper in June, the only station with diesel was being remodeled. The only pump working was the diesel pump. It was a very tight fit for my rig but we fit.
  • Came through the Ice Fields last summer, you're right about trucks on that portion, but it's still not that far between diesel stops.

And when in Revelstoke, go to the train museum. They let us stay in the lot for two nights. The museum isn't large, but it's nice. Inside they have a very nice steam locomotive. If you see the sign stating that the Engineer Is In, then one of the old engineers that actually used to run the locomotive is there that day to answer questions.

And a few miles away is one of the upper hydro dams on the Columbia. It's not one of the larger ones since it's on the upper river, but still nice to go see. Leave your MH in the train museum lot and take your toad up to the dam.

  • Kelowna & West Kelowna _ lots of stations along the hi way. Banff-go into Canmore. There are a couple up by the tourist info area. Revelstoke- at lights use Chevron to the north of the hiway. The Shell is very busy(Tim Hortons) and tight.

There are lots of them. You'll be on truck routes.

Not for the portion between LL and Jasper, known as the Icefields Parkway. Commercial trucks are prohibited and there is only one fuel stn along the route at Saskatchewan Crossing and as previously mentioned, avoid it like the plague.
  • There are 2 stations in LL both of which have diesel. The Husky stn is the easiest to get in and out of with a big rig.
Be sure you have enough diesel to get from LL to Jasper without having to stop at Saskatchewan Crossing for fuel. The station at Saskatchewan Crossing is probably the highest-priced fuel you will find anywhere in Alberta or BC. They are just a plain ripoff place!
  • There was one in Jasper, on the main street near the railroad station. And the price was good compared to other stations in the area.
