Las Vegas, NV to Lee Vining, CA

Should I take 95 all the way up to Tonopah, then 6 to 120 to 395? Or should I exit 95 before Tonopah, taking 266/264 up to 6, then to 120 to 395?

Not going to Death Valley as this trip will be in July. Just want to get up to Lee Vining.

    We have taken 95 to Tonopah, then 6 to Benton to 120 to 395 many times and just allow yourself a little time and enjoy the countryside. Easy drive and very little traffic to contend with the last time we traveled this way.

    I would take 95 to Tonopah as you described. The section of 120 you will travel is lightly used. Hardly any traffic last time I traveled it.

    That's a long way around the barn it's an additional 100 mi
    I would go 95 to Tonopah, 6 to Benton then 120 to Lee Vining, CA or just stay on the 6 into Bishop then 395
