Looking for a route NY to Destin Florida (panhandle)

Looking for a route BESIDES I95. Traveling from Putnam County NY to Destin Florida on the panhandle. First time going there. I95 is just always so much traffic and construction in and around the whole state of Virgina. If you have a recomended route, Id love to learn something new. Leaving Friday and Im running out of time! thanks for any advise you have. Pulling a 30' travel trailer. Need Highway, Tolls are fine, and Trailer accessible roads.
The faster the better. we are going for spring break.

So far so good. 1 hour from Tennessee. No real traffic. One slow down for 5 minutes because of an accident. Very scenic a pretty. Rolling hills and farms. Much better than I95. I will try to post some pics.

Keep us updated on how you make out with the roads and your stay in Destin. I am real curious as that was on my list of trips for week 4/23; also leaving from Putnam County NY.

Did same cape cod to pensacola

I'd go I-84 to I-81 to I-75 to I-59 to I-65 to somewhere about halfway between Montgomery and Mobile and then on US or state highways to Destin as seemed most appropriate. This handily skips Atlanta, which is a doubly good idea with the I-85 bridge troubles there now.
