Northern California SNOW, SNOW, SNOW

Well, winter is back with a passion.
Measured snow on our patio table and was at 10" an hour ago.
I80 was chains required both east and west. Trucks being screened.
Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon is now closed again due to slides in the Twain area.
Be very careful out there.
  • Plenty of rain and snow and no where to store run-off. Flowing into ocean as I
type. We use recharge basins to replenish underground aquifers and they are empty. Most of our water here comes from city wells. City will tell us there is still a shortage and raise our rates again while limiting our usage. We even have some cities that will not allow you to collect your own rain water run-off to irrigate with!??. No new dams but we're building a "bullet train to nowhere".

And I did hear that the canyon has reopened. Just better not be any more rain. Saturation has to be at its peak.

I think this most recent tax increase was the final straw for a lot of people. Wife will retired at the end of the year and then we'll be outta this state too.

  • Jerry Brown will find a way to tax us for getting to much snow and rain!! I for one am ready for five months of clear skies and heat!!
  • We have more water than we can store, Spring please come I am sick of winter
  • At least the drought is over if that is any consolation
  • Mammoth Mountain is closing in on 600 inches for the year. And this latest load is very wet.
