Oklahoma Highways

The Indian Nations turnpike and I44 are both good roads (again Oklahoma makes you pay for good roads. :M Make sure you have plenty of gas on the turnpike. We just took them on our way north two weeks ago.

I haven't driven the Indian Nations turnpike in a couple of years but it wasn't bad going south between Henryetta and Atoka then. Drove 75 between Tulsa and Henryetta 2 weeks ago and it was pretty good other than a couple of small construction projects that had down to one lane. The roads in Tulsa make the highways seem great.

I agree, 75 is the pits but 69 is probably worse. I will say that I40 from the TX/OK line to OKC is hard to beat, was better than I40 through TX/NM/AZ, a welcome change from what it used to be.

Lots of luck finding smooth roads in Oklahoma. Must be a state plan to keep you from falling asleep, hard to go to sleep when you are bouncing around

DO not plan to make much time through OK. Hwy 69 and 75 are not very good.

IMO, the turnpike is the way to go. 69 has a few nice stretches, but it also has a lot of filling shakers. Oklahoma is not known for their smooth roads unless you pay extra for them. :M
