ON, Canada to Mt Rishmore, SD

We made it through our planned trip to DC, NJ and Nigara Falls, Ontario Canada. We visited a friend in Markham, Ontario. Heading back to US, visitingour last stop, Mt Rushmore.

Mapquest is giving us 3 different routes:
1. 90 West
2. 80 West (through Davenport, IA), 380, the back to 90.
3. 80 West, 29 freeway

What is the least congested route you recommend? We have no reservations to this part of our trip. Will just stop at any campground or rest area along the way. Thanks in advance.

    Both of your first two choices differ by about 8 minutes estimated travel time. No big deal. However, the Davenport route takes you around Chicago. Whereas following 90 all the way takes you through Chicago. Do you want to drive around or through Chicago?

    You'll experience construction on either of these routes. How much of a delay these construction zones cause, should be your determining factor.
