Overnight Stops!

HWY 45 leg from Chihuahua, MX to El Paso, TX. Going North out of Chihuahua there is a Pemex on the West side of HWY 45 approximately 1 hour North of Chihuahua. If you are headed North you have to cross the median but it was no problem. Other truckers will be staying there also. Let them know inside and we gave them 50 pesos. Try to be in some light. I had a great conversation with one of the Truckers that told me how he had worked in Colorado, saved his money to return and purchase his truck. He was doing well enough he was purchasing another and hiring a driver. He was excited to be able to practice his English. It was a quiet stop. This placed us within easy distance of the Santa Teresa, New Mexico crossing back into the USA. I BELIEVE the coordinates are 29.24, -106.25. This is also just South of the cut-thu on HWY 7 to Nuevo Casa Grande. You can see it on Google Earth.

I hope Manuel did not do any damage to them. It looks like it hit Celestino head on.

I have a list of over 400 RV Park/Campgrounds in Mexico but have not heard of that one. Could you please share information and details about this place as well as the new directions you have for getting there. Forums are for sharing with all readers.

There is a Pemex about 5 miles south of Los Mochis on the west side of 15 that many readers have mentioned stopping in that area. It is a truck stop that is completely fenced and has security guards.

The Better Choice of Pemex Stations South of Los Mochis is Not the one on the West side of 15, but rather the Older Station on the East Side!

My experience with the Newer station : Diesel Pumps were rigged to deliver less Fuel than indicated!

Never ever had a problem at the one on the East side!

Certainly:

After crossing the bridge at the north end of Navajoa, make a right hand turn very soon at the intersection containing the Sicombro Hotel and the GM dealer on your left. It is marked “Bacabampo”

Proceed a couple of km down a boulevard with a deep canal in the center.

At the end of this road turn left on the Periferico (Note there may be some development by now past this junction, so it may no longer be a T. You will know you are approaching it as there is a center island in the road with plants).

Proceed until you see Pemex #2137 on your right. Immediately past this station, take a hairpin turn to the right.

Follow this road for several kms south, passing through one medium sized town until you reach Pemex #9179 on the left. Here, make a left hand turn. (B4 the station)

Follow this road as it takes a 90 degree turn to the right, then south until it reaches a major intersection. Cross that intersection and curve around to the right, past a graveyard until you reach a T. Turn left.

Follow the road south a few kms to the Hotel Mirador on the right. There are a lot of Topes along this stretch. Note there is one Y- intersection along the route. Take the right hand fork.

How easy is the Canal road for Larger Rigs?
We have used the Western Periferico a few times and the Eastern one last Year !

Tequila: Did you ever answer Brian's question about that route? Is it big rig friendly? I know you are in a TC and can go places that others may find difficult. Rob: How did you get to that Pemex on the East side. I assume that is the one that is modeled after a flying J with a scale and what was supposed to be a small mall? The last time we were headed south I could not find any place to turn around and get to the east side. Is that the one where one RV'r was robbed?
