rockford illinois

Traveling north on i39 into rockford illinois to I90 anyone have info on the toll boths there? i never pulled my rv through a toll booth. are they narrow? or hard to navigate
  • Get an EZ-PASS it's worth it. It's good all over the North East and is supposed to be good country wide eventually.
All tolls booths always look narrow but we all fit through.
  • I have been thru it several times in each direction with our 5th wheel. I always payed cash and on my way. Easy peasy.
  • Do you have an Ohio E-ZPass? It's accepted on the IL tollway. Otherwise just do as suggested, run through the IPass lanes and pay later.
  • The toll booth are wide enough to get a semi through, so your RV should fit. If you run through the "Open Road Tolling" lanes without an Ipass or EZPass transponder, then you have to pay online within 7 days or you will get a ticket in the mail.

If you are coming across on I-80, be aware that there is construction (as usual) between Joliet and I-39. Most of the time it moves pretty well unless someone messes up in which case it will back up for miles.
  • Semis go through the manual lanes, lots of room. I agree just use the I Pass lanes and pay on line.
  • Big semi trucks go through all day and night with no problem so I bet you won't have any trouble. Just follow 1 through.
