Roll Call Alaska 2013

Just thought I'd start a thread regarding who will be starting up to Alaska in 2013. It would be nice if we could share information so everyone has a memorable and safe trip.
We will be leaving around the end of May out of Las Vegas. We will be traveling with our 40' MH and towing our Equinox car. We are heading up with my husband's cousin and her husband and they have an airstream.
We have gone before but in 2005 so we are really looking forward again to the adventure. It is surely a trip of a lifetime and to do it more than once is a blessing. We are only on this earth for a short while.

I got to alaska around june1st, stopped in anchorage ie ft Richardson for 2 weeks to rest. Then headed down to the Russian river, where I have been fishing ever since.
Got plenty of fish now, so fixing to start working my way back to Oregon to visit my brother.

Roll Callers once you are on the road, please go to the other thread titled "On The Road with Roll Call 2013" It is a sticky which means it is one of the first threads on the category of RVing in Canada and Alaska.
Everyone on the road is blogging there, stating where they are and who they are meeting etc.
You will get lots of info still on the new thread as Roll Callers are traveling to the different spots.

Since most are on the road already maybe this thread needs to be closed???? What do you think Mr Moderator???

No one has mentioned the Smokey Mountains. Very disappointed in the way the haze is ruining my view of the beautiful mountains between Tok and Anchorage.

We took the slow drive up from Colorado Springs at the end of April, and arrived in Kenai the 15 of May. Very beautiful, and not crowded at all. A lot of places were still closed for the winter, so we boondocked in some beautiful stops. Being early, we got a great spot workamping for the summer, and have fished, biked, and hiked this whole area. We even went river rafting in Coopers Landing. We are looking to do some of the islands in July, then off to Denali and Fairbanks in August. Hoping to take the west route to Washington September and down the west coast looking for something warm and sunny for the winter. Need some ideas for California or Arizona. Thanks, Good luck

Wow we are still adding friends to our roll call. Welcome to zipadeedoodah!!! And you are from my neck of the woods. Las Vegas is only 90 miles from me in Bullhead City.
Now that you are on the road, please go to the other thread "On the Road with Roll Call 2013" Tons still of info. Roll Callers are still posting the good and the bad and otherwise blogging about all our adventures. Might get some ideas of where to stay or what to do...or not do.
