I live in Wilmington, VT (just east of Hogback). Route 7 in new York is twisty but no issues in a motorhome. make sure you take route 279 around Bennington. Much easier than driving through town , and the views from that road are also very nice.
Once you get east of Bennington, you will climb and climb on Route 9. There is a truck lane, so no issues with speed. Enjoy Route 9, and the towns of Woodford and Searsburg. WATCH for moose. On the descent into Wilmington, you will have a major downhill. Feel free to stop in town (free parking by the old high school) and spend lots of money. We can use it. Once through town, continue Route 9 east to Hogback (plenty of parking before summit on right shoulder, but none east of gift shop). Enjoy the views and then head off east. Route 9 is twisty and has a few down hills, but nothing too serious. Enjoy the ride, but watch your speed.
I regularly tow my 38 toy hauler on this route with no issues.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Have a safe trip.
