- pauljExplorer IIYou are talking about the FS campground on 410 on the NE side of Mt Rainier. Coming over Chinook Pass on 410 from Yakima is very scenic, and recommended for a car. But the loops on the west side of that pass as the closest thing to switchbacks I've seen on state or federal highways - probably 20 mph curves.
I90 and 410 from the Seattle side will be easier.
I'm not sure about your profile. You may have a small enough rig to enjoy the pass.
If possible check the pass in detail with a online or GPS program - terrain, streetview, etc. - Missed CG
I-90 to WA 18, south to Maple Valley, then WA 169 to WA 410 to Campground - Are you talking The Dalles, OR?
If so you could come I-90 to US 395 near Ritzville. Take US 395 to I-84 near Umatilla, OR then west to The Dalles.
