Route

We will be leaving Minnesota on the 15th of September, headed towards to Ark. Taking our time and enjoying the trip. Going to visit some relatives. After that we will be going to NM.
Any suggestions on the best route for both.
  • We always use the interstates. It's the best thing that President Eisenhower ever did for us; Normandy is second.

  • If you are wanting to stay on interstates, get on I-35, take that to I-49 (the old 71 why) in Kansas City. That will get you to the NW corner of Arkansas. It really depends on where in Arkansas you are wanting to go. Also you can take the same route, but when you get to Harrisonville, Mo on I-49, you can take that to 7 Hwy to 13 Hwy in Clinton, MO. That will take you to Springfield, MO, then get on 65 Hwy South and through Branson, MO, & into Arkansas. This route will put you in the "mid Arkansas" area. The last route is all 4 lane divided highway, almost like the interstate, but more scenery & the option of stopping in Branson. When you get to Harrison, Arkansas, it drops down from 4 lane divided to 2 lane. If you opt for the 2nd route PM me, & I can give you some tips. I travel that route a lot.
  • Going to stay on interstates and just enjoy the trip, not necessary to see a lot of sites. Just taking our time and no rush,
headed for Truth Or Consequences Area Possibly.
  • If you're going to take your time and enjoy the trip, stay off the Interstate Highways.
Travel the US Highways and side roads if you want to see America.

Where in New Mexico are you headed? Do you want to take Interstates or U.S. highways?
