Is there not a program that will plot your route and you can tell it how many hours a day or how many miles per day you want to go?
I could swear Ive used a program that did this but I cannot remember which one it is.
I have tried the GoodSam and a few others, it just list the whole trip - no stops.
Thanks for your help.

Life may not be the party we expected...
but we may as well dance while we're here.

I am still using the 2010 version of Microsoft Streets and Trips. You can get data sets for the older versions of Microsoft Streets and trips from the Discovery Owners Forum, the POI Factory, the Ultimate Public Campground Project and the US Campgrounds websites. Microsoft Streets and Trips will import data from text and excel files so even though a data set may say it is for another mapping program, Microsoft Streets and Trips may be able to import the data.
Safe travels!

I am still using the 2010 version of the "Trailer Life Directory Campground Navigator" which was produced by Undertow. The partnership between Trailer Life and Undertow was dissolved after the 2010 Version of the software. A recent version produced by Undertow is an identical mapping program but without the amount of campground information that was in the 2010 program.

It is unfortunate that Trailer Life did not continue this valuable computer program. It was the best for trip planning at the computer.

I think the weather may be ok, maybe. I-10 is the southern most E/W interstate.
If all else fails use that route.
Have a great trip.

with a short piece of I-12 in LA.

That's the one, but I see it is only for the S&T 2013 version.
I don't think my S&T is version 2013. I'll have to check.
Thanks.

Thanks Dan nickie, i'm a little late getting back here! Yes, we tell Streets and Trips how many miles or what time we want to stop and it does the rest!

Yep, then there's that download someplace that adds all the RV parks, truck stops, campgrounds, etc.
But I don't remember where I downloaded it from.
Do you remember?

google maps is another. I like it because I can search for a CG near my expected mileage and add it as a destination along the route. I save the route to my maps, and then use it in my cell phone on the road.

It's only driven me into the grand canyon once. :B

I remember a few years ago using one where I could tell it how many miles or hours I wanted to travel. Are you familiar with that one?
anita

Streets and Trips does that.
I believe you input your start time and end time for each day and it shows the stopping points on the map.

I use my old version of trailer life camping program to do this. I plan all of my trips on it, put in lots of midpoint towns and can check the mileage in the right hand column.

tried that mapquest. nice drag the route feature. plotted my usual trip and of course it did the same as every other program, was wrong, could easily drag and it snapped right to the correct route.
