...since Mr. Murphy likes to hang out with the aurora, of course it was cloudy (at least in my part of Alaska) over the entire 28th - 31st stretch.

...and even though one internet prognosticator was bold enough to post "This aurora is so large it will burn through the clouds", that didn't happen and no visible aurora for me (from South Anchorage to North Big Lake) this past weekend.

It arrived really late, 5am PDST, and was seen low on the horizon from the north end of the Island. This will be the last time I do an aurora warning post on Facebook! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The aurora forecast has been upgraded to "High + + " for Oct. 30!! I've never seen that rating used before.
