there's a book called camp free in bc.very good info for overnite stays.backroad mapbooks by mussio ventures is another.its my go to map book for exploring. everything worth seeing is listed as well as free camping, provincial parks, campgrounds,rv resorts etc. they have one for almost every area of western canada, yukon. you can camp on crown land as long as its not a permanent structure. a lot of free forest service campsites are just off the hiways. some have small fees, like 12 bucks or so. i've pulled up and overnited in the rest stops before. if you pull in late and leave early nobody bothers you .i've even overnited in the litter barrel pullins before. once i even pulled into a weigh scale station and overnited over in a far corner.you can probably do it at a truck stop if you wanted to.
