Transiting E/NE to W/SW?
I've noticed, as there seems to be often, folks asking about best routes going E/NE to W/SW. And rarely do I see one of the most comprehensive state hwy systems mentioned in the solution.
For many years and many many times doing Houston to the E/NE for me it was using the Kentucky Parkway System. Without any doubt the most under appreciated Hwy system in the nation. From W. Memphis and I 55 To I 155 which becomes the Purchase Pkwy, a short ride on I 24 to the WK/Western Kentucky Pkwy, then a even shorter ride on I 65 to the BG/Blue Grass Pkwy to Lexington and then I 64 and further.
Beyond the Purchase, WK and BG are 6 more:
1.Mtn/Mountain
2.Pennyrile
3.Rogers
4.Natcher
5.Audubon
6.Cumberland
And for the most part after getting on you ask yourself, where is everyone. Although lightly used in spots there are road surface issues, but overall a good ride.
