Well, you could come on up to I-20 to go across North Texas. With all the flooding in Houston, Austin and San Antonio I think this might be the better choice. You could then go on up to I-40 which you would need to do anyway.
If you would be interested in NON interstate, I can make other suggestions. We have made many, many trips from Northeast Texas to Florida and back over the years. We've tried many of the routes.
I would be VERY interested in your input. We are relatively new to long trips, and value feedback from more experienced travelers.
