Washington state to West Yellowstone

Our first trip with our 30 tt will be the end of July. Wondering which route to take into West Yellowstone. We travel I90 for most of the trip but not sure after that. It shows on Mapquest 287 out of Butte. Does anyone know the terrain on that highway?
TIA

  • Drove 287 last year in the opposite direction. Great easy drive!
  • For a slower route you can throw US-12 in the mix in N Idaho. Or there is the southern route they Boise, but the N route is more scenic.
  • If you send them across on US12, why not turn south on US93 and then east at Lost Trail pass. This takes them past Big Hole Battlefield, and a chance to wander across open Montana uplands to Yellowstone.

For sure, it is a great route.

As long as your on pavement I don't think you can find a route where 30' is too long, if that was your convern OP. I travel all over Idaho and parts of Wyoming/Montana and aside from a few dirt roads never run into length issues at over 50'.
