Congrats, we love Penticton too. We have this thing called work that prevents us from going up there; good jobs tend to be scarce in the area. It must have been meant to be given that you found your perfect house so soon!

Our oldest is a dentist in Kelowna hence our frequent visits. If you want a recommendation for a dentist in Penticton let me know by PM and I will ask who he recommends.

Congratulations, Gary! Cycling is a great idea -- exercise without impact on your ankle. We have very fond and then not so fond memories of Penticton.

We were there in cherry season. We have never tasted such wonderful cherries, before or since. That's the fond memory.

We ate far too many cherries. That's the not so fond memory. ;)

I think you'll really like it there Gary. We spent a year in Kelowna and were amazed how little sun we had in the winter. Our best friends lived in Osoyoos, and we noticed how often it got sunny around Summerland when we drove down to visit them. We had a few 8" snowfalls in Kelowna, but never saw more than a dusting in Osoyoos!

Yeah..we were here in June to kind of check out whether or not we should maybe do this. Sharon has terrible arthritis, so the northern climate is hard on her body. Plus the all-round better lifestyle. I need to get cycling again, etc, etc. So..we decded yes, to Penticton and then thought in a year, we'd have bought a place. We were on Haida Gwaii end of August, saw the house on realtor.ca and that, as they say, was that.

Sharon is in real estate and will take up here what she does north.

Congrats Gary.

This is a move we've been debating as well. We have been spending a week or two every year in Kelowna and each time we leave it gets harder and harder to step foot on the plane. This year we spent more time looking at real estate then golfing so we must be getting close.

As we age the winters here in NB just seem to get worse & worse, 400 cm last year or nearly 14 feet!
