- NMDriverExplorerThere are three near Las Cruces. Two welcome centers at the TX/NM border. Exit 0 has Flying J, Loves, etc. truck stops and just north on 10 is the NM welcome center while just south on the frontage road is the TX welcome center. The NM center is easy on/off while the TX one requires a couple of miles of frontage road driving and an underpass to get back onto the freeway west bound.
Another Rest area is just west of Las Cruces on the east bound side. If you are traveling west you must use exit 135 cross over and re-enter the freeway east bound. When you leave you must travel east for 4 miles to the Motel Blvd exit (T&A/pilot Trk Stops) to get back going west.
There is also a rest area east of El Paso around mile marker 50. One just east of Van Horn and another west of Fort Stockton around mile 234. There are a couple parking/picnic pull outs also along 10. - TOMMY47ExplorerThanks all.
- RugExplorer IIThe rest areas west of San Antonio are open but are the old type.
Not much room for Trucks or Rv's. There are also a few Parking areas. These are just big paved areas no rest rooms. Both of these areas fill up with truck so just be prepared to drive a bit further or get in early. - jswatExplorerRest area at Columbus (east of San Antonio is open.
