3rd Stop, Grand Tetons NP. 48 day National Park tour. Part 2

We did the Wilson to Moose road and sure enough when we got near the Moose Jct. we got to see our first moose.

On another day we did the Morman Row. Lots of old interesting buildings there from the early settlers. The tall mountain peak is Mt. Teton.

This the T.A. Moulton barn. Claimed to be the most photographed barn in America. One of it's movie credits is "Spencer Mountain".

There is was a large herd of Buffalo in the area. These two are butting heads.

I have always like the views from Oxbow Bend. This is Mt. Moran.

On another trip we drove up Gros Ventre road to the Atherton Creek, Forest Service CG. Real nice CG on the Lower Slide Lake formed by the Gros Ventre slide in 1925. I think the slide sort of looks like E T the Terrestrial of the movie by the name.

Just pass the slide area the valley opens up to an awesome view of the lake and mountains.

Lots more HERE. First timers may want to look at the whole album. Others may want to scroll down to the Rockefeller stop.
  • Enjoyed all of your pictures.

Curious about where you found the beaver lodge & dam.

We have camped a couple of times at the Atherton Creek campground. We were told last year that they were scheduled to repave the road from the Teton Park boundary to Atherton Creek. It was really bad with broken pavement and potholes last year. Wondering if you found new pavement?
  • Great pictures, we just returned from two week vacation in the Tetons and Yellowstone. I love that area in the spring. Thanks for sharing.

The beaver lodge and dam was on the Moose-Wilson road. Closer to Moose Jct than the Rockefeller center.

No...The road still has it's pot holes.
  • Those are nice pics, but it would be great if you could include one or 2 or the campgrounds you are staying in.
