Albuquerque,NM for a month not near highway?

Looking for a campground that is not on the highway like America and Enchanted.
  • We stayed at Turquoise Trail when we vacationed here before moving. Quiet campground, nothing fancy but clean.
  • I live in Albuquerque (about a mile from the KOA). If you want to be close to ABQ but not near the interstates I would go to the Turquoise Trail RV as Heisenberg suggests. No frills but 50 amp and fairly large spaces. You have to watch the signs or you will miss it.
  • Turquoise Trail RV Park Cedar Crest NM is about 15 minutes east. It is on highway 14 just north of I40.
  • We always stay at the KOA east. We like it because it is in Albuquerque and easy to get to. It is however by I40. You can hear it but can't see it. It is a nice park if you want to stay in town. I know most people here hate KOA's, but it we always enjoy it while there. The KOA in Bernalillo is nice, but then you have to drive to Albuquerque. Just depends on what you want. We always stay in the 50 amp sites which are a little bigger.
  • Off of US 550, Just minutes North of Albuquerque (off of I-25, exit 242) in Bernalillo:
The Coronado Campground is a Bernalillo city campground (used to be a state part) at the entrance to the State Monument. Wasn't a bad site some years ago, haven't been there in some time as I mentioned. It was a state park when we had spent time there. Sets off the Hwy a little.

Cochiti Lake COE campground, between ABQ & Santa Fe: Cochiti Lake CG

Not sure how long the allowed time of their stays at them would be. Not full hookups perhaps either.
  • Go north of Albuquerque to Rt. 550, west to 528, south 1/2 mile to Stagecoach Stop Resort RV Park. It is off the highway.
