Anchor Down Resort in Tn

Has anyone been to this relatively new cg? I think it is a couple or so years old.
  • Thank you to all that responded. We also appreciate the photos. We have made our reservations and are looking forward to the trip. In 2007 we did the Pigeon Forge area and while we enjoyed it we need things to be a little quieter and laid back this go around. Thank you again.
  • Very nice campground on lake Douglas and grat views.

Forgot what site # but this was a companion site next to the lake.

  • We have been here for six days now on site #175 which is a pull in site with a huge stone fireplace. Looking out over Douglas Lake and seeing the Smoky Mountains in the background is beautiful!

All sites are paved with full hookups and 30/50 amp. Cable tv and WIFI included in the price.
We got a pay for 6 get a free night price. Our site was $69 a night......

Beach area on the lake for swimming, with a huge floating trampoline and another in water inflatable. Also a large swimming pool with slide and a kiddie pool too.

Large bathhouse with separate rooms with sink, shower, and toilets. laundry room is large also!

Staff is very accommodating and friendly.

Also has a dog run so you can let dogs off leash for a bit. There isn't really any shade as it's still a newer place, but tree's have been planted.

Sites are all quite large, I believe 50' so lots of room. Overflow area for cars to park. Also have a boat ramp and a lot for trailers to be kept. Dock with jet ski ramps and boat slips for rent while there.

We have enjoyed our stay here and don't really want to leave.
  • We stayed there about a month ago. It's a beautiful campground but we were very surprised at how small the spaces were. We had a 45' MH and had a toad. We fit in a double space but didn't see any single spaces we could have fit both vehicles in. We were up top and didn't go to the lower level. Maybe the sites are bigger down there.
  • I live a few miles away from it and it is a top notch campground. Beautiful views of Douglas lake and about 15 miles away from the craziness of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Peaceful setting with fairly level stamped concrete pads with stacked stone fireplaces, but you pay for all that too. Its on the top end of local rates. Its only been open about a year and a half, I think March of '14 and they are still working on it, or some of it anyway.
