Any advice for us on Rio Grande Valley campgrounds ?

We would like to escape Oregon winter and get to a Hot Place (no, not THAT one).....but warm. We have been to AZ in Feb/March and it was COLD.

So, the lower tip of TX seems to be a good spot. We are looking for an out-of-the way, quiet, small, few amenities campground. Lots of space between sites, a shade tree or two and 50A service with a sewer hook-up.

There are a LOT of reviews and CG websites.... and I will start looking if I can just get some feedback from people who have stayed at similar CG or have heard about CG that seem to be appropriate for us.

Many thanks,
Noel

Noel, if you aren't getting a big response on this thread you might check over at the Snowbird thread. There are a lot of Winter Texans over there.

BTW, we haven't gone down to the RGV other than an auto trip some years ago and last year went to Florida for the first time. Giving FL another trip this year, but haven't ruled out TX for a future winter trip. Good luck!
