- jnharleyExplorerWe have stayed at the Coachlight RV Park a couple if times. You have to be self contained as they have no bathhouse if ai am remembering correctly but there is a laundry though. For us, it was just a stop over but we thought it was priced decently and very neat and clean. Easy on/off the interstate and sites were mostly big pull throughs.
- D_E_JohnsonExplorerDownstream Casino is -one night free with the basic players card, then 15/a night. The newer campground is near their convenience store, with fuel. It is all concrete, and not one site is level! They put alot of money into this, but should have asked an rv'er when they were planning. We stayed in April 2013 for 2 nights. both free, we each had a players card. Food in the casino is very good, its very large and lots of fun with the penny slots. They have a shuttle to the camping area, just walk to the bus shelter and pick up the wall phone.
The KOA is pricey, but has nice long pull thru, a small pond, you can feed the ducks. Its at exit 4 off I
-44. Convenient to town. The campground hosts are really nice folks. Have stayed there plenty of times.
Downstream is at exit 1 off I-44, just before crossing into Oklahoma. Either would be good! Dona - RR24ExplorerDoes anyone know anything about the Cubby Bears RV park in Carthage?
Thanks Wes - sp8goldExplorerCoachlight in Carthage is a nice, easy in/out place to stay. Located behind a dealer ship in case you want to shop. lol
- RR24ExplorerThanks folks for the answers, anymore just please add them.

- ngreenExplorerOh and we have more restaurants, nicer shopping, more business now than before the tornado. Either the attention gained or the billions of dollars pouring in from insurance companies and FEMA has increased construction even outside of the tornado zone, but the population is still not 100% recovered. Keep Joplin in your thoughts today - it is 2 years anniversary and today is graduation at Joplin High School (same as the day of the tornado) and they have been forcasting tornados this evening, so everyone is on edge.

Click here - ngreenExplorerJoplin has rebuilt alot, it is amazing. There are a lot of RV parks none of them close to the affected area. To the southwest is a KOA right off of I44 exit 4, to the east in Carthage is two nice parks, Coachlight and Big Red Barn. There is a new RV park (not a parking lot) at the Indigo Sky Casino in Seneca MO which is about 15 miles south of I44 or 12 miles west of I49 (at the neosho exit) also I passed a RV park right on the creek yesterday - Zans Creekside Rv park - it is where i would want to stay with grandkids i you dont mind them playing in the creek or staying in the woods but I dont know if they have full hook ups - it is also offof I44 exit 4
Downstream Casino is further to the west in Kansas and last time I was there their RV park was just in the parking lot but they have added on to their hotel so that may have changed. PM me if you have any questions, I am in Joplin almost every day. - rockhillmanorExplorerHow far are they in rebuilding Joplin for there even to be a place to go to in an RV?
