- yrusosloExplorerMyrtle Beach, SC
- Jim_ShoeExplorerI've stayed at each of the "big three" at one time or another, but I actually prefer Willow Tree. Its not on the beach, but a short drive to the beach and there's a parking area. The sites are larger and its the closest CG to Calabash, NC for their style of seafood.
Personally, I don't walk on the beach in swim trunks. I'm afraid that I might run into Captain Ahab with a harpoon in his hand yelling "Thar she blows". :) - zackyboy3rsExplorerWill be there for Thanksgiving.
- Bill_DianaExplorerWe have stayed at Ocean Lakes several times and at Willow Tree RV Resort one time. Willow Tree without a doubt is a 10-10-10+ campground. Massive sites and well cared for. But, if you have kids and want the action of Myrtle Beach the drive from Willow Tree will be 14 to 20 miles one way depending on what part of Myrtle Beach you are interested in. Driving that distance each way, each day during a week long vacation could be too much for some. If you want the beach and convenience to the action of Myrtle Beach, then a campground like Ocean Lakes will meet that criteria. If you want quiet and relaxation then select Willow Tree. JMHO
- OaklevelExplorerThis coming weekend will be packed as Ocean Lakes is having a "Special Weekend for their storage Campers" so it will be packed. Be back Thanksgiving......
Nothing beats walking on the beach & watching the sunrise any day you want by just walking a short distance & walking back for your morning coffee........
