I've narrowed it down to our stay this winter, and going with Arizona...thanks to all the help, and useful information I got from the group here...(Thank you so dam much!!)...(handshakes).

My questions varied so much the last time, and I jumped all over the place, this time I'll be quick, straight to the point, and just a couple questions this time.

Would any one care to share a good RV Campground with me on the not so high end campgrounds.

I'm looking for one with a 6 month plan, laundry facility. Spacious sites...Just don't want to be crammed in so close...Peaceful, quiet.

2nd question is metered electric...What can I be looking at while there say Dec-May..(6 months)..I know that question has a huge variable. What am I running etc...Being it's the cooler months, and not running a freezer...do more than often, people have to pay more over the amount allotted?

Anyways...can anyone throw about me so RV Campgrounds they like,in Arizona that I could look into?

Thank you so much...I know my questions are hard to answer...aaugh.

Thank you so much....:)

George

For spacious sites you might look into this Escapees RV Club park in Benson, Arizona. You'll be amazed at the beautiful landscaping, friendly folks, nice activities in the clubhouse and best of all, very reasonable rates, including 6-month rates at $270/month.

Saguaro Escapees RV Park

In fact, they have a special offer for non-Escapees to spend a week full hookup for $50 + electric. Then to stay on you'd need to become a member but it's only $40/year and has lots of perks including a fantastic bi-monthly magazine written by RVers with little advertising. Once a member you can stay at other Escapees parks.

We'd highly recommend it.

Benson is a little higher elevation than Tucson 40 miles to the west so it's cooler. December and January will be the coolest months but it warms up by 9am. There's lots to do in the area and day trips to Tucson is very easy.

We are spending the winter in the same park we moved to last Jan.1.
We love all the amenities and the way they structure them.
We are in Country Roads in Yuma after moving from a nice park in Surprise, called Pueblo El Mirage. The new park is a titled lot park, and we rent from the owner. Check it out. Macktee

I 2nd Tombstone Territories RV park. Big wide spots so you're not on top of each other. Away from populated areas so nice and quiet but still close enough when you need something. Electric is metered but rates are rather low.

Lots to do in the area, Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, Fair Banks ghost town, numerous wineries, Bisbee and more.

As far as the power deal, most charge by the KWH, from start to finish with no overage. Then most likely there will be a meter reading charge. We pay 18.5 cents per KWH with a $2.00 meter reading charge. Only you can determine how much you will pay.

Good morning.. if you don't mind a rural and slightly cooler location check Zane Grey RV Park in Camp Verde, AZ. Good monthly rates and on electric. Have propane on site also.

If you don't mind a little cooler temps, the Tombstone area is very nice. Tombstone Territories RV park has large spacious sites, and metered electric. All the sites are a minimum of 40x80 feet. Their monthly rates are $380-$420 (those were summer rates, and subject to change)+ electric at $0.13/KWhr.

The park is a couple miles from historic Tombstone, and a short drive to Sierra Vista for a little larger city experience.

You might wan to look at Desert Trails in Tucson. Not exactly "spacious" sites, but more than adequate for us.

West of the Tucson Mountains, reasonable rates, quiet with friendly residents & owners, fair amount of activities and great for desert or mountain hiking.

Like Lauren said (Hi Lauren!:B) Tucson is small enough to get around and big enough for a lot to do. At 2,500 feet the winter weather is good as well, although with El Nino it could be a bit wet this coming winter.

Arizona is large and diverse state - from below sea level to well over 10,000 feet.

I will presume you want to be warm so that brings you down to lower elevations. That being said, it is already mid Sept and you best make a decision soon as many places are filling up, if not already full.

Many are 55+ age.

What are your interests? Like huge, congested city? Opt for Phoenix. Like warm with not much to do outside the RV park? Opt for Yuma. Want a great place? Opt for Tucson - which is why we moved there 12 years ago! Big enuf but so much to do.

Hey, we came there from MN -- with an 8 year stint in Estes Park in between.

Lots of places in AZ.

Metered electric would be an RV resort. . .hardly a campground.
There are many. . .Happy Trails Resort in Surprise, AZ is one such and it has many amenities. Other resorts near Yuma tend to be warmer. Hope you get more, better answers.
