Mogollon Rim area in the summer, 7000 - 7700' elevation, spectacularly beautiful views, several beautiful lakes, lots of forest service campgrounds, most popular recreation area in the state. From Payson, AZ, take Hwy 260 to the NE about 35 miles. The forest and the terrain around the Rim is much more beautiful than the forests around Flagstaff.
