Army Corps Campgrounds, Tennessee and surrounding areas

We just stayed four nights at one of our favorite campgrounds, Defeated Creek, near Carthage, TN. We have camped here several times over the past years. I noticed how well maintained it is, many improvements since the last time we were there. We camped several weeks ago at Cedar Creek, near Mt. Juliet. It is maintained but not to the level that Defeated Creek is, potholes that haven't been filled in, etc. Both campgrounds are 5th Wheel Friendly as I call it...then we camped at Seven Points on Percy Priest Lake a few weeks ago. It is not really 5th Wheel Friendly, needs some improvements on some of the spots where backing in is not a problem because of the drainage ditches and culverts. Has anyone else noticed this? We have a Puma 25RS which isn't a problem for me to back in but was noticing how many 5th wheel's have a problem getting into a few spots. We have scouted out the campgrounds we camp in around where we live, like those I mentioned above. I have seen many come through and look at the spots and say...I can't get into there. Cedar Creek has a few like this, could stand a little tweeking on a few sites.
  • Many of the older COE and state park campground were designed and built before the current rage of "bigger is better" and "take it all with you" camping.

True...just wish they would play catch up with some that need improvement.
