Attractions for Cross-Country Trip
Having spent a very pleasant winter in our 36' Class A at Lakeside RV Park in Everett, WA, we are embarking on our migration to the Atlanta area on Easter Sunday. Our route (cannot-avoid stops) includes Portland OR, Fort Collins CO, Oklahoma City, Chattanooga TN, and finally to Acworth GA. We will towing my Honda Fit so can do excursions not appropriate for the RV. It's just the two of us and our two Pomeranians, no kids.
We plan to take at least three weeks to get there - we are in no hurry - and don't mind side excursions. We plan to avoid interstates whenever practical. We thrive on unusual little fun adventures. We are into music, airplanes, trains, old cars, funky little museums and interesting bigger ones, cute little towns that haven't been "updated", pottery and glass arts ... you get the idea.
We plan to visit the historic Wendover UT airfield, drive the Oklahoma parts of Hwy 66, and visit the giant soda bottle north of Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma City Memorial, and any other interesting or quirky locations we spot in our many travel references. But if you have any such things to recommend, or great eating spots, along or fairly near our route, we would love to hear about them.
