Attractions in Arkansas within 5 hours of Branson

We will be traveling to Branson and would like to make a side trip down into Arkansas. What would you suggest that we see... We have been to Eureka Springs and Bentonville area already. We are interested in site seeing, museums, short hikes only, history. Not going to do any fishing, hunting or long hikes. Would like to stay within about a five hour drive.
  • We spent our time in Hot Springs this year. They have museums and a state park downtown where you can drive up the mountain to the lookout points. It is beautiful. You could take the time to enjoy bath house row. Unfortunately I was voted down on the excursion!
  • We enjoyed Dogwood Canyon, a 10,000 acre nature park it is a non profit park founded by the founder of Bass Pro Shops

They have a guided tour and lots to do, it is about 30 miles southwest of Branson
  • You've already been to Bentonville, but for those who haven't, a visit to the Walton museum is great. Influenced our lives more than Clinton.

    X2
  • We took a day trip south into Arkansas that we enjoyed. It was hwy 65 south to Harrison and then scenic Hwy 7 to Jasper. Many nice views and about 6 hrs round trip. Do a search for Arkansas Hwy 7 for more info. Have a good trip.
  • While in Bentonville did you visit Crystal Bridges Museum? It's well worth a trip, free parking & entrance thanks to the Wal Mart foundation. Only American artists, beautiful
  • X2 on Petit Jena State Park. And Magazine Mt is nice to see also. Beautiful lodge.
