- According to a quick search on the NY parks website, Shodack Island State Park, Thompson's Lake at Thatcher State Park, and Max V. Shaul State Park all have sites available for a relatively extended stay in August. Shodack Island offers electric hookups, the others apparently do not.
I haven't personally been to any of these parks, but my limited experiences with the NY state park campgrounds that I have been to have been good. - I reserved mine months ago
