Ausable Chasm, NY

Just tent camped here for 2 nights with family. It is a former KOA. Sites were a bit cramped but everything was well kept. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Campground patrolled at night and quiet hours seemed to be enforced - the camp was full yet at night it was quiet enough to hear the water falls some distance away. We did the hiking and rafting tour of the chasm and that was great too.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. We've had a seasonal campsite there for many years that we use as a base for our motorhome when we're not traveling.

We used to tent camp there over 20 years ago when it was a KOA. It is now run by the Ausable Chasm folks themselves and they have been making substantial investments into the campground over the 5 years and they continue to do so.

Packerbacker - maybe we were neighbours back in the 80's. We used to tent camp at the KOA as well. Haven't been back for years though.
