Avilla Beach availability late March

Not really sure where to post this, but this site has the most posts.
I'm planning on camping for a week at Avilla Beach (Central Coast near Pismo) and all sites are first come first serve.
Since I don't have kids, I didn't consider it being the time for spring break.
I'll be there Sun March 22 til Fri the 27th. Most places clear out after checkout on Sun and are good til the next weekend.
I'm hoping next week won't be packed due to kids being out of school.
Anyone familiar with Avilla or Spring Break schedules for the cental coast?
  • We try to get there on a Monday. It usually clears out by then and we've always found a spot. However, I've never been around there on spring break so I'm no help there. Since easter Sunday is the following weekend, you may be OK. As you probably know, there is an overflow area on the hill where you can wait for a spot to open up. Their prices have gone up a lot, but it's a beautiful spot.
  • Spring breaks are all over the place and it isn't just the Central coast you have to worry about. We're getting hot weather in California right now and if that continues into your vacation time then people from all over the Central part of the state may be heading to the beach too.
  • One you might check as a backup is Lake Lopez just down the road right by Pismo.
  • Spring break is not always at the same time for everyone.
