Beach access at Grayland Beach State Park

Looking at staying at Grayland Beach State Park in the full hookup loops. What is the beach access like? Is it a short and easy walk? Stayed at a park last year that was supposed to have good access but was a 3/4 mile hike over sand dunes to a cliff overlooking the beach. Do not want to repeat that mistake.

You can also drive and park on the beach at Grayland SP. If you have a TV or a toad this could be an option for you. I am handicapped and have half a heart and can make the walk to the beach easily from any of the approaches. This year the beach is a little further out so there is more of a walk over loosely packed sand dunes.
I am NOT a mechanic although I do play one in my garage!

One more thing. Make reservations. Grayland SP gets full when RAZOR clam season starts in October. Check to see if you'll be there during that time of the year.

Grayland SP has two sections. The old section with full HOOK UP and the new section with just water and elect. Old section can be a far walk to the beach. New section is just over over the dunes of the beach. To the shore still is a bit of a walk. Pick your site and you can be on the beach side loop of the new section. New section is a lot cleaner with new toilets.

According to that aerial view, it appears to be a somewhat short walk to me. Even the ones in the circles towards the front don't look like more than .25-.50 mile walk. The walk from the where you reach the sand to the water appears to be just as far as the walk from the furthest campsites to the sand...lol

We camp there often. There are 2 camping areas. One is very close to the beach, the other is back inland a bit and a longer walk.

It's a compromise. The beach area is more exposed and can be more windy. Sites off the beach are more protected and more private.

Have a good trip.

No , he posted Grayland SP.

For the best sites, book ahead. This park is booked solid in good weather, and even fairly full in the winter.
The walk through the beach-grass to the sand can be long(ish) but is not hard and certainly worth the effort

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

It is a short easy walk depending which site you get onto a spectacular beach. Best to book ahead. We wished we had stayed there.
