- ksg5000ExplorerIt's only 85 miles between Portland and The Dalles so most don't look for campsite in between. Seem to recall some dry campsites on the Columbia - use the forum search feature.

That will absolutely work. I don't mind trains either, but I could sleep through a hurricane and my husband just turns off his hearing aids.
