Boone docking at moab in may

Looking online there is a number of places to boone dock in moab utah. Can someone point one out that has easy access for 40 fifthwheel for 3 nights in may.
  • About 10 miles north of Moab is the road to Klondike Bluffs. It is just north , of the above mentioned Dalton Wells and just south of the airport. It is state land and there are plenty of spots you could make it to. The view of the Bluffs is great. If you look at a map you will see that the road makes a loop back to 191, but do not try this with your trailer. There are some steep ledges near the end. Weather wise, the winds can be severe.
  • Check out Ken’s Lake south of Moab. I have never camped there but plan to in late April.

Also Horsethief BLM near Dead Horse SP. We were there in 2010 lots of room.

True Boondocking at LockHart Rd off of the road to the needles part of Canyonlands NP which is a little far from Moab.
  • Early May can be really cool or really hot. Been there when it was nearly freezing and when it was over 100. April & May are big event / rally months and campsites in Campground (with or without service) can be a challenge to find and rates are at prime season rates. Always somewhere to boondock but many of the good spots closer to town again will be taken. Both North & South of Moab have primitive boondocking you can fit in.

  • We stayed here last spring for a dirt bike trip. North of Moab on Dalton Well Rd.

There are plenty of flat area/spots in the area around the dropped pin. You do need to cross a dry sand wash, but the traffic has it packed down really good, 4wd not required. I'd be hesitant only after a recent rain storm since there is a good amount of clay.

It is a little way from town, but to be honest the toy traffic was minimal, it was quiet at night, it was DARK, and nobody for 150+yds the whole time during April.
